I was really happy to go to work today. Being in this new environment emphasized how Dolores Umbridge stripped me of my self esteem at the other job. I can look back and see that the way she treated me was nothing less than emotional abuse.
Today, my new boss gave me my password, handed me about 100 ER charts, watched me code a few of them, then said "Let me know if you need anything". What. A. Concept. She treated me as though I had a college degree in this field, and actually had a clue about what I was doing. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, kept thinking she was going to come in behind me and check everything I did so that she could find something to bitch about. I even wondered if she had access to my password so that she could follow my every move (which my other boss did! My other boss even came into my office when I wasn't there and went through my desk!) This boss is reasonable. She trusts her qualified employees to be, well, qualified.
Unfortunately, I got a call from the school nurse at noon saying that Thumbelina was sick. She had no fever and the only symptoms she had were ones to which she could attest (weak, dizzy, nauseated). Then, this evening, Huck comes to me crying saying that he felt like his stomach was going to crack apart and that his snot kept bothering him. I don't really believe them. I think that their daddy is halfway through his 3 week Europe trip and their mom started a job today and they are stressed over it.
Either way, I'm going to work tomorrow, and the first three days of next week. We'll take it from there.

You are amazing!
Congrats on this new job and seeing the demon in the other boss for what it was. Most of healing is identification.
Take it from one who knows.
Better yet, your new boss treated you like a person...
Congratulations and enjoy!!!!!
Congrats on the job!
Sounds like a great job. I'm glad you've finally found some nice people to work with ~ it really makes all the difference.
ditto on what every body else said!
I wrote up my review of twilight the movie. I loved it!!!!
I am in the third book and find it a delightful getaway from the daily grind.
I concurr with everyone else!
By the way, how is that case against Dolores going anyway?
Well, Dolores is still employed by the hospital, but there is a big flapping red flag flying over her head. Everyone from Human Resources to the CEO is watching her every move. She still hasn't hired a new Coder, because her reputation has preceded her. So, 6 weeks after my termination, she is doing my job and hers as well.
