The trickiest part of dealing with Chris being halfway across the world is the fact that I don't send or receive 10 calls or text messages from him in a 24 hour period. We are used to doing this and it's strange not to be able to do so. Apparently, there is no T Mobile in Germany because his phone may as well be a banana for all the good it does us. Since Sunday afternoon, I have heard from him a grand total of twice.
The kids are out of school today, so, rather than sit here and pine, we went to town. We were killing time before the bookstore opened and wandered into a furniture store where I found the perfect coffee table. It just so happened that I had a fresh, crisp $100 bill in my purse of birthday money, and one final 10 hour paycheck from my nightmare of a dream job. The coffee table was $75. So I snatched it up, and even had money left over for books. Yay!
I bought the new JD Robb novella, the new Victoria Laurie, the new Madelyn Alt, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 10th anniversary edition and Harry, a History. Also, JD Robb Salvation in Death and Loreena McKennitt's A Midwinter Night's Dream.

$75 us a great price for a coffee table. I hope you share a picture of your find.

I love finding treasures like that. I'm shopping for a new christmas tree, mine is umpteen years old and is starting to show it. But damn, I had no idea how expensive they have gotten. I refuse to pay over two hundred bucks for a decent fake tree. If it werent for the animals I'd buy a real one. I don't which is worse, cats climbing it, dogs tinkling on it, or the needles you still find in May.
