Various and Sundries

My job is PRN and I have been off since New Year's Eve. It's lovely. I'm cooking and cleaning and stitching and reading and exercising. Of course, I am not making money.... I put in another PRN application today; we'll see where it goes.

There has been major flooding in our area. Lina and Huck were supposed to go back to school on Wednesday, but school was canceled yesterday and again today. It's a good thing I haven't been working this week, or the kids would have been strewn to the 4 winds, and I would have met flooded roads on my way to work. The water table of the river under the interstate bridge that I have to cross to get to work? It is reaching the underside of the bridge, according to the local news. Floods are the Deep South version of blizzards, I suppose.

Floods for you and snow for us. What a wonderful time to hunker down with movies, stitching, and the kids. We will all be forced out and around soon enough.

I too work PRN. It's beauty is it's flexibility. The bummer is the not so steady paycheck. I do love the picking and choosing of my own schedule. When you have kids and run a home...it's wonderful.
